1886/1911 Samuel Henry Hamer, "Silver Wedding Token",


A white metal or aluminum proof strike of a token - privately issued by Samuel Henry Hamer - celebrating the anniversary of his marraige.  Hamer, the principal author of The Provincial Token Coinage of the 18th Century, issued a number of private tokens he used as Christmas gifts to friends and for exchange with token collectors.  Most are approximately the size of a penny token from the 18th century.  This specimen, choice uncirculate, very attractive and a mirrorlike cameo effect.
