Douglas 7A, white metal, 51.2mm.  Washington Inaugural centennial medal

George Hampden Lovett (Feb. 14,1824 - Jan. 28, 1894) was the son of engraver Robert Lovett Sr.  Robert set up shop as a die sinker and manufacturer of medals ca.1825 in Lower Manhattan.  Sons George, John and Robert Jr all became engravers operating out of New York and Philadelphia crafting pieces of now highly collectible exonumia.
